Furnirent - Rental Terms & Conditions
(Operated by Van Rossum Lda · furniturerentalportugal.com)
These Rental Terms & Conditions regulate all rentals made through Furnirent.
By placing an order, the client agrees to these Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Payment Policy, and Cookie Policy.
1. Contract Formation
A rental contract is formed once the client completes checkout, agrees to these Terms, and receives a digital Order Confirmation.
All details provided at checkout — client name, address, NIF, selected items, and rental duration — become part of the binding agreement.
2. Minimum Rental Term & Minimum Order Value
- Minimum rental duration: 1 week
- Minimum order value: 500€
Orders below this amount cannot be processed.
3. Delivery & Installation
Delivery fees are calculated at checkout based on distance, volume, and order type (light décor vs. heavy furniture).
The client must guarantee access to the property at the scheduled time.
4. Deposit & Refund
A refundable security deposit is charged at checkout.
Refund within 7–14 business days after pickup and inspection.
Deductions may apply for damages, missing items, stains, excessive wear, heavy cleaning, or late return.
5. Client Responsibility for Items
The client must use the items responsibly, avoid misuse, and report any incident immediately.
All items remain the property of Van Rossum Lda at all times.
6. Cancellations
- Cancellations before delivery may be refunded minus logistics fees.
- Cancellations after delivery are non-refundable.
- Early return is allowed, but unused prepaid time is not refunded.
7. Extensions & Renewals
Rentals can be extended at any time.
Additional months/weeks are billed automatically using the payment method on file.
8. Failed Payments
If an automatic payment fails, Furnirent will retry several times.
If unsuccessful, services may be paused, and the company may recover the items.
A €25 late fee may apply.
9. Return of Items
At the end of the rental period, Furnirent will schedule a pickup.
Items must be clean, in good condition, and accessible.
10. Liability
Furnirent is not responsible for damage caused by improper use or for delays caused by external factors (weather, transport, strikes, etc.).
11. Ownership & Buyout Option
All furniture remains the property of Van Rossum Lda.
Some items may be eligible for buyout at the end of the rental period.
12. Invoices & VAT
Invoices include VAT according to Portuguese law and are sent electronically.
13. Legal Enforcement (Judicial Action)
If the client fails to pay the rental fees, deposit adjustments, or any outstanding charges:
- Furnirent will notify the client via email,
- Attempt automatic collection through the authorised payment method, and
- If payment is still not made, Van Rossum Lda reserves the right to initiate legal action.
The digitally signed Rental Agreement serves as a legally binding contract, allowing Furnirent to:
- File a judicial claim for unpaid amounts
- Recover the rented items
- Seek compensation for damages, costs, and legal fees
Failure to pay constitutes a breach of contract under Portuguese law.
